Interested students can attend one of two application workshops that will provide guidance on the application process.

If your application is moved forward, virtual interviews will occur in March. Internship matches will be made by the end of April.

build4good, an initiative of New America, is a paid mentorship program that matches post-secondary students who are majoring in computer science, integrated digital media, UI/UX design, or other technology-related fields to nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations with technology-specific project needs. This mostly remote summer internship program aims to inspire a network of future leaders to develop socially minded technology, discover public service-oriented careers, and help organizations harness the power of technology for social good.

Build strong visual identities and lead project development.
Build digital communities and set goals to increase community engagement & impact.
Help visualize complex issues and gather invaluable data.
Design and develop accessible websites.
Design user interfaces and experiences using different software.
Build website & application backends while attentive towards back-end server services.
Students complete an online application during the Spring semester.
Applications are reviewed with some moving forward to an interview with our team. If your experience and interests are a match for the program, we will schedule a meet and greet with a potential host organization.
If you and a host organization select each other, an offer from the host organization will be extended, and we will begin discussing your project for the summer!
